The pandemic has made life particularly challenging for students, but one Dubai-based student by the name of Bibin Baldev Raj has an additional obstacle when it comes to doing well at school: stage 4 of Ewing sarcoma. Studying in his hospital bed, the inspiring 17-year-old has been the recipient of much praise as he managed to score 97.2 percent in the Indian Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) grade 12 exams.
Not only did Bibin attend online classes mid-treatment, but he also ranked third in his school. Ewing sarcoma is a rare type of bone or soft tissue cancer that primarily occurs in children and young adults, but it's not slowing this GEMS Our Own Indian School student down. In fact, he hopes to become a lawyer someday, crediting his parents and sister for their support throughout his treatment. We're cheering you on, Bibin!
