This iconic Sharjah landmark is now open to the public

After undergoing major restoration works, The Flying Saucer is now open to the public, the Sharjah Art Foundation announced.

Built in the 1970s, the structure has been an icon of emirate with its unique architecture influenced by the fascination with space in the 60s and 70s. Today, the Flying Saucer features new community spaces that will host exhibits, workshops, film viewings and other events.

The exteriors have also been given some attention and the area now has new spaces, a cafe, library, courtyard and multiple activity spaces.

To mark the start of the season, the Flying Saucer will be hosting workshops for children.

Oh, let’s not forget that they have an art library that is open to all.
