With the ongoing pandemic turning the world upside down, the previous list of the world's safest countries by Global Finance magazine has been entirely reshuffled – but it's not all bleak. In fact, on a list of 134 countries, the UAE ranks second! As for the safest country in the world?
Iceland, which probably took no one by surprise.
The NYC-based financial magazine took three key aspects into account for its safety index: war and peace, personal security, and natural disaster risk (including the unique risk factors stemming from COVID-19). Elsewhere in the top ten are Qatar, Singapore, and Canada as well as Scandinavian countries such as Denmark and Norway.
