CALLING ALL YOUNG MUSICAL ARTISTS! Open for entries until 21:00 on 25th October 2019 WhichSchoolAdvisor.com is inviting primary and secondary students from across the UAE, with a passion for music, to take part in the Young Musician of the Year competition.
The Young Musician of the Year competition is completely FREE to enter and they encourage as many students as possible to take part. No matter what your age or your musical preference everyone has the chance to be seen and heard. It doesn’t matter what instrument you play, or musical style you choose. In fact, they would love it if you could bring something different to the competition! In the UAE we are lucky to have such a melting pot of musical backgrounds and cultures coming together in one country.
The music video should be no longer than 3:20 minutes and should be uploaded to WhichSchoolAdvisor.com no later than 25th October 2019. There is no age limit, as long as you are a school student and resident of the UAE you are eligible.
Once the competition closes the videos will be judged by a specially selected panel that includes professional saxophonist, Adam Long, session violinist Anna Pym and Head of Music at the Canadian University of Dubai, Rivaan Mager. The music videos will also be opened up to public voting...
This year there are three categories in the competition:
1. Young Musician of the Year
2. NEW! Rising Star Award – the judges will select up to two winners from the younger age group students, those who they feel show the most potential as a future Young Musician of the Year. The winners will be invited to perform at the Finalists Concert on 9th November 2019
3. People Choice Award – this commemorative award is presented to the most popular video as voted by the public. It is a fun award, and therefore not part of the Finalists Concert. Voting for the People’s Choice Award opens on 26th October and closes at 21:00 on Friday 8th November 2019.
The shortlisted finalists will be offered the exciting opportunity of performing live in front of an audience of friends, family, school representatives and invited guests to the iconic Theatre by QE2 on Saturday 9th November from 14:00-16:30.
In preparation for this, the young artists will have the unique opportunity of being mentored by award winning singer-songwriter legend Abbo Abbondandolo.. So what are you waiting for?
