Abu Dhabi Airports is marking a decade in aviation this year. The company has invested over AED 20 billion in development projects during the past ten years across all of its airport sites. It has also diversified its assets to include Abu Dhabi Airport Business City – an operating free zone and the Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies – a centre for airport and aviation training. The Midfield Terminal Complex (MTC) which is the biggest infrastructure project so far will increase AUH’s overall capacity to 45 million passengers per year. It is expected to open in 2017.
