Dubai summit to tackle urban challenges, future-ready cities

Global leaders at the forefront of shaping cities are set to gather in Dubai this month for a major summit focused on the future of urban living.

The 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum will be held at Expo City Dubai from October 27 to 29.

It t will focus on building more liveable, efficient and sustainable urban centres in response to rapid urbanisation.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, the summit will bring together over 150 mayors and delegates from more than 300 cities worldwide.

Topics on the agenda include affordable housing, climate-resilient infrastructure, smart mobility and the role of real estate in future-ready cities.

Dubai Municipality and key government bodies will unveil new urban development projects, while the summit is also expected to spark major investment opportunities.

Behind closed doors, the Mayors’ Forum will lead to a joint accord on shared strategies for future city growth, while forums for city leaders and young professionals will foster collaboration and innovation.

This marks the first time the global summit is being held in the Middle East.
