The Emirates Group has posted a profit before tax of AED 4.1 billion ($1.1 billion) for the first six months of 2026-27, despite disruptions and high fuel prices due to the regional conflict.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said the Emirates' "business model and our people stood up to the test" during the "demanding six months".
Post-tax profit stood at AED3.6 billion, down 66 per cent from last year, while revenue was AED66.2 billion, down 12 per cent from AED75.4 billion.
Sheikh Ahmed thanked the UAE government for its response during the regional tensions to enable transport resumption and the easing of travel advisories to and from the country.
The airline posted a half-year profit before tax of AED 3.7 billion ($1.0 billion), down 68 per cent, and revenue of AED 56.9 billion ($15.5 billion), down 13 per cent, against the same period last year.
Sheikh Ahmed added that "customer demand held firm and our cargo operations made a strong contribution, keeping revenue and cash levels healthy even as global jet fuel prices doubled against the same period last year, impacting our costs and profitability".
Compared to March 31, the Emirates Group’s employee base dropped by 2 per cent to an overall count of 128,237 on September 30, with recruitment drives to support business requirements ongoing.
