Originally from Coventry, UK, where I’ve spent more than 25 years working in radio, hosting events and announcing at live sports. I’d visited Dubai loads over the years, always loved it, and eventually thought… why not make it home? I love travelling, a good brunch, karaoke, live music and trying anything once. My Perfect UAE Weekend Would Look Like...

Depends on the mood. Sometimes it’s checking into a nice hotel for a chilled weekend staycation with absolutely no alarm clock. Other times it’s a good brunch with friends.

Favourite Delivery Order...

Five Guys. Cheeseburger, fries, white salted caramel, lotus milkshake. Sometimes a cheeky Cinnabon ends up at my door.

I love karaoke so it could be Oasis - Wonderwall, The Enemy - We’ll Live and Die in These Towns BUT everyone loves to belt out a bit of Whitney Houston. right?!

Lady Gaga earlier this year. It wasn’t just a concert. It was a full on production. She knows how to put on a proper show.

Everyone needs a good mate in the car. Someone to keep you entertained through the traffic, play decent music, keep you up to date on the WhatsApp group gossip and give you ideas for the weekend. Means you can concentrate on the road… and not get another fine.

Mim Burrows is a radio presenter, fashion obsessive and enthusiastic collector of expensive things she does not need. Described by ChatGPT as having “expensive taste and cheap laughs,” she’s spent more than a decade on air and, according to critics, “is somehow still on air.”

Born in Egypt, raised in Australia and now living in Dubai, Mim is fluent in English, sarcasm and enough Arabic to get by. Although, her Arabic has been described as “cute,” which she chooses to take as a compliment. My Perfect UAE Weekend Would Look Like...

My perfect weekend starts with breakfast at 21 Grams with the family, or Kite Beach during winter. Then it’s a pool day, followed by dinner at Nobu or Sushi Samba. Ideally there’s a sunset, a good outfit, excellent food and no one asking me what we’re doing tomorrow

Kraftwerk. I saw them for the first time at Big Day Out in Melbourne when I was at university - it was my introduction to them. I had absolutely no idea what I was about to see - and then suddenly I was watching four Germans make electronic music feel like the future. It’s still one of those live music memories that has stayed with me.

I’ve spent more than a decade behind a microphone across radio, television and digital media, so I know how to tell a story, ask the right questions, find the funny and keep you company when Dubai traffic has brought your journey to a complete standstill. I’ll bring great music, entertaining conversations, strong opinions, questionable life advice and the occasional story that probably should have stayed off air.
