Dubai Municipality will assume responsibility for the management, operation and development of facilities at the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project under a new agreement with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
The two entities signed an MoU during WETEX 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre, aimed at supporting the long-term sustainability of the project and maximising its benefits for Hatta residents and visitors.
Under the agreement, Dubai Municipality will be responsible for managing, operating, maintaining and developing the project's existing buildings, facilities and assets.
The agreement also covers the leasing of shops and other facilities, as well as oversight of leased properties and tenants.
Officials said the partnership supports Dubai's wider efforts to promote Hatta's sustainable development while strengthening its position as a tourism and investment destination.
The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project is designed to deliver benefits beyond tourism by supporting social and economic development and creating sustainable opportunities for local residents.
