UAE advances agentic AI project targeting 50% of government operations

The UAE has launched the strategic phase of a national project aimed at converting 50 per cent of federal government operations, services and tasks to agentic AI-driven models within two years.

More than 100 federal officials attended a workshop organised by the National Committee for the Agentic AI Project, marking the start of the strategic government workstream.

The initiative will integrate AI into federal operations to support areas including policy development, future planning and decision-making under the UAE Government 4.0 framework.

It covers seven areas including strategy and projects, foresight, policies, governance, government performance, global competitiveness and innovation.

Officials were also briefed on implementation timelines, the classification of tasks and ways for federal entities to work together while reducing duplication.

Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, said the workshop marked the operational start of deploying AI models across strategic government work.

The project operates under the principle that "human leads, AI enables".
