Actor Jamie Foxx, 55, was spotted in public for the first time following a prolonged hospital stay due to an undisclosed medical condition.

The renowned actor was seen leisurely cruising on a yacht on the Chicago River on Sunday afternoon.

Footage obtained by TMZ captured the moment, showing Foxx smiling and warmly acknowledging a passing vessel.

According to TMZ, he was also seen venturing out in Chicago on Saturday, signalling a positive step in his recovery journey.

Foxx was first admitted for medical treatment in April. Although his family has maintained confidentiality regarding the specifics of his condition, they appealled to fans to keep Foxx in their thoughts and prayers.

A month later, his daughter provided an update, announcing his discharge from the hospital and mentioning that he was in the process of recuperation.

Foxx's daughter, Corrine, released a statement in April, acknowledging her father's treatment and asking for privacy during the challenging period. "We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday, (April 11)," she stated. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time."

Nearly a month later, the actor personally expressed gratitude for the support he received, sharing an update on his health through his social media platforms. "Appreciate all the love. Feeling blessed," read his message on Instagram.

Due to his health condition, Foxx was unable to host Season 6 of the Fox game show Beat Shazam, leading Nick Cannon to step in as his replacement. However, the network confirmed in May that they would continue collaborating with Foxx and his daughter Corrine. Both are set to host We Are Family, a new show scheduled to premiere in 2024.
