It’s topped Avatar, and crossed the $800 million mark (nearly AED 3 billion) – breaking records at the box office. ‘The Force Awakens’ has taken $1.5 billion (AED 5.5 billion) globally, despite only coming out three weeks ago. What’s more, it’s expected to take China by storm, when it opens there on Saturday. ‘The Force Awakens’ was partly filmed in Abu Dhabi, using extras from the community.
