Bodies of twin babies wrapped in a polythene bag have been retrieved from Nairobi River during a clean-up activity.

It raises the number of dead foetuses retrieved from the river near Korogocho area in the last one week to eight.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has called for an investigation, describing the incidents as a "worrying trend".

Four bodies of adults have also been retrieved from the river since the launch of the clean-up drive late last year.
