Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Azmatullah Omarzai led their team to a dominant five-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Sharjah, securing a 2-1 win in the ODI series on Monday.
Chasing a target of 245, Gurbaz's explosive century (101 off 120 balls) set the foundation, including seven sixes and five fours.
Omarzai (70*), combining caution with aggression, guided Afghanistan across the finish line in 48.2 overs, alongside Mohammad Nabi, who played a crucial supporting role.
Bangladesh had earlier posted 244-8, thanks to a 145-run partnership between skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz (66) and Mahmudullah (98). Afghanistan's Omarzai starred with the ball, taking 4-37 in seven overs.
This victory marks Afghanistan's third consecutive ODI series win in 2023, a testament to their growing cricketing prowess.
