The UAE has officially opened the Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2025.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan inaugurated the event at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, in the presence of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.
Running until December 23, the Games bring together more than 850 athletes from over 60 countries to compete in hybrid sports — combining physical skill with digital gameplay.
Sheikh Mohamed said hosting the event reflects the UAE’s growing role as a global hub for innovation and future sports, creating a platform for youth to connect, collaborate and compete in a spirit of friendship.
The opening ceremony featured advanced technology displays and storytelling elements, while officials highlighted the UAE’s commitment to innovation and youth empowerment.
