Isaac del Toro wins stage 6 of UAE Tour, takes race lead

UAE Tour

Isaac del Toro (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) has won Stage 6 of the UAE Tour 2026 by attacking on the slopes of Jebel Hafeet, and taking the overall lead from Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious).

He rode alone to the line to claim both the stage and the race lead.

Luke Plapp (Jayco-AlUla) was second and Felix Gall (Decathlon-CMA CGM) was third, and Tiberi struggled through the finish line to finish fourth.

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, Del Toro said: “I was convinced that I could win today. Up the hill, it was a mental game with Antonio Tiberi. I was confident enough to keep trying. It didn’t work the first time so I had to go again.

"As a team we had the winning mentality today. As I went solo with 2.5km to go, I could see the gap but I had to try and increase the gap as much as I could till the line.

"Today’s win is in the top 3 of my career so far. It’s so special to win with such a great team. It’s time for me to realise that I have to believe in myself as much as my team does," he added.
