American rapper Jay-Z has faced criticism for teaming up with the NFL, with Colin Kaepernic's girlfriend calling it "disgusting and disappointing".

As per the new deal, Jay-Z's entertainment company, Roc Nation, will help select music artists for high-profile performances including the Super Bowl.

It comes almost three years since Kaepernick began his protest, kneeling during the pre-game anthem in protest of police brutality.

"So really, how can Jay-Z and the NFL utter social justice in their partnership while keeping Colin unemployed because of his social justice work?" she asked on her instagram page.
