Pegula, Anisimova to clash in Dubai semis as Gauff dominates Eala

Third seed Coco Gauff defeated Alexandra Eala in straight sets at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships to reach her first semifinal since winning Wuhan 2025.

The American dropped just two games enroute to a 6-0, 6-2 victory and will next face the winner of the quarterfinal between seventh seed Elina Svitolina and lucky loser Antonia Ruzic.

Elsewhere, second seed Amanda Anisimova triumphed 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(4) against defending champion and fifth seed Mirra Andreeva in a thrill-a-minute encounter that clocked in at just under 160 minutes.

Anisimova, the world no. 6 will face fellow American Jessica Pegula in the semifinal, who overcame last year’s runner-up, Denmark’s towering Clara Tauson 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
