They beat Afghanistan, bidding for their second win in a World Cup match, by 34 runs in Cardiff.
Despite suffering a dismal batting collapse, Nuwan Pradeep and Lasith Malinga starred with the ball denying Afghanistan the chance to reach a rain-revised target of just 187 from 41 overs.
