Richarlison was on the scoresheet as Fulham dumped Tottenham out of the League Cup 5-3 on penalties. Micky van de Ven put through his own net to give Fulham the lead, in the second round tie.
Spurs levelled through the Brazilian, Richarlison in bizarre circumstances.
Kenny Tete had to change his boot leaving the home side temporarily down to ten men, which gave Ange Postecoglou’s side an opportunity to equalise.
A penalty shoot-out was needed to separate the two sides and ironically it was Tete, wearing his new boot, who scored the decisive spot-kick to send Fulham into the next round.
Elsewhere in the competition, fellow Premier League sides Crystal Palace advanced to the next round with a 2-4 win against Plymouth, while Bournemouth also made it through with a 2-3 win away to Swansea.
