Victoria Azarenka reaches Australian Open quarter-finals

Two-time champion Victoria Azarenka is into the quarter-finals of the Australian Open. The 26-year-old, from Belarus, beat the Czech Republic’s Barbora Strycova 6-2, 6-4, to set up a last-eight meeting with seventh seed Angelique Kerber. Azarenka says she was pleased with her performance.

Earlier, men's 23rd seed Gael Monfils battled into the last-eight with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 victory over Russia's Andrey Kuznetsov.
