The world’s top swimmers and high divers are taking part in a series of competitions in the capital this weekend. Abu Dhabi Sports Council is teaming up with FINA – the world governing body for swimming to host a 10km marathon swimming race, and the High Diving World Cup Competitions. Over 130 of the world’s leading male and female open water swimmers from 35 countries are expected to attend the event, competing for their chance to gain qualifying points for the Rio Olympics. It’s hoped the event will inspired UAE nationals and residents, as tickets are free.
