Eight people have been killed after a minibus collided with a truck on Dubai's Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road early Monday.
In a series of tweets, the Dubai Police said the 14-passenger minibus rammed into the lorry, which was stationary on the hard shoulder.
The bus driver and seven passengers died on the spot, they added.
The director of Security Media, Col Faisal AlQasim, said investigations are being carried out to determine the exact cause of the accident. He also urged all motorists to practice extreme caution, respect speed limits, avoid distractions and to use indicators when changing lanes.

On instagram, the Dubai Ambulance Service said six people were also injured in the collision that took place on E311 towards Sharjah just before Mirdif City Centre.
All the injured passengers have been transferred to the trauma centre at Rashid Hospital.
Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
