DEWA, Masdar sign agreement to build Dubai solar park's 6th phase

DEWA and Masdar have signed an agreement to implement the sixth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park at a cost of AED 5.51 billion.

The facility in Dubai is the world's largest single-site solar park.

Its sixth phase will provide energy to over half a million residences while reducing carbon emissions by 2.36 million tonnes annually.

The completion of all phases of this massive project is expected by 2030, with a total investment of AED 50 billion.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, witnessed the signing of the agreement between DEWA and Masdar on Wednesday.

He said, "Our goal is to achieve 100 per cent clean energy for Dubai by 2050."
