A contactless eWallet system has been introduced for customers to make payments at Dubai Health Authority's (DHA) facilities.
Rashid Hospital is the first to go live, and will soon be followed by other DHA-run hospitals, clinics and medical fitness centres.
A valid Emirates ID and a UAE mobile number are all it takes to open an account, and once registered, users can top up their balance to start making payments.
The DHA is the first government entity in Dubai to implement this system.
It has partnered with Digital Financial Services LLC, a joint venture of Etisalat and Noor Bank to enable secure and contactless payment options for eWallet customers.
Regulated and licensed by the UAE Central Bank, eWallet is a digital payment service aimed at empowering the UAE residents with safe, convenient and flexible payment solutions through an easy-to-use mobile app.
