An incident which took place in a school on Wednesday morning was minor, according to Dubai Police.
In a series of Tweets, Dubai Police said a woman used her parent access card to enter GEMS Wellington Academy Al Khail and behaved suspiciously before leaving the premises.
Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, said the woman left a cleaning substance behind.
He added that nothing disturbing happened at the school and the management seemed to have rushed sending messages, causing unnecessary panic among parents.
The woman has been summoned for further investigation.
Al Marri reiterated that there was no reason to panic and the school was safe.
Colonel Faisal AlQasim, Director of Security Media at Dubai Police, has called on the public to disregard any rumours regarding the safety and security of the emirate. AlQasim also called the public to refer to the force’s official channels for reliable information.
