The GCC is looking at setting up a committee to coordinate the construction of a region-wide railway system. It’s been discussed at a recently held meeting in Qatar, attended by the Gulf’s ministers of transport and communications. According to the national news agency WAM, the committee will be tasked to finalise railroad track laying plans. Delegations from the six-nation bloc also discussed the possibility of setting up an entity that will create marine emergency stations across the region.
