New 'SSD' service strengthens public role in national security

WAM

The UAE State Security Department has launched a new service allowing members of the public to report security concerns directly to authorities.

Known as the 'SSD' service, it provides a dedicated channel for reporting potential risks or threats that could affect public safety and social stability.

The initiative is designed to strengthen preventive security efforts and enable faster response.

The department says the service reflects the belief that security is a shared responsibility, with public awareness and participation forming the first line of defence against potential threats.

It aims to encourage individuals to play an active role in protecting national achievements and maintaining a safe and stable society.

The service receives reports related to extremist activity, suspicious behaviour, threats to community security, insults to the state and its symbols, information leaks, espionage and other actions that may impact social stability.

Authorities have stressed that all reports are handled with strict confidentiality. Identities are not disclosed, and the highest standards of privacy and data protection are applied.

Reports can be submitted through the toll-free number 800 6600, offering a fast and direct way to share security-related information.

The launch also coincides with the verification of the State Security Department’s official account on the X platform, aimed at enhancing public awareness and engagement on security matters.
