Over 200 bikes, scooters seized in Dubai crackdown on reckless riding

Dubai Police

Dubai Police have seized 210 motorcycles and scooters and issued 271 fines in a major campaign targeting dangerous driving behaviours in areas including Al Khawaneej, Nad Al Sheba, Jumeirah Street and Al Qudra.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commandant for Operations, says the violations ranged from creating loud disturbances to driving against traffic and riding on highways in ways that endangered both the riders and other road users.

He says field teams have intensified campaigns to curb dangerous behaviour, stressing that police will not tolerate actions that disrupt public order or put lives at risk.

Confiscating motorcycles and e-bikes, he says, is part of broader efforts to boost traffic safety, reduce serious accidents and maintain the emirate’s overall appearance.

Al Mazrouei also called on parents to closely supervise minors and ensure they are not riding motorcycles without a license or engaging in risky stunts.

He encouraged the community to report dangerous behaviours through the 'Police Eye' feature on the Dubai Police app or via the 901 hotline.
