Reducing waste a priority as Dubai landfill space shrinks

The only landfill site in Dubai is filling up fast. That’s the message from the municipality's waste management department, who warn that unless we warm up to recycling, we’ll soon find ourselves surrounded by rubbish. They say the problem is a resistance to the idea of sorting our trash. Hotels are seen as a particular problem as miniature bottles of shampoo and shower gel alone waste 82 tonnes of plastic a day.
