His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, met justice and interior ministers from a number of countries on Sunday on the sidelines of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Abu Dhabi.
The talks focused on issues of common interest and ways to turn the principles of the Abu Dhabi Declaration into practical cooperation between countries.
Discussions included partnerships aimed at strengthening capabilities to address security and criminal justice challenges and support greater international cooperation.
The Abu Dhabi Declaration was adopted on the opening day of the Congress and will guide international priorities on crime prevention, criminal justice and the rule of law over the next five years.
It covers areas including organised crime and cybercrime, the responsible use of artificial intelligence in criminal justice, corruption, illicit financial flows, extradition and mutual legal assistance.
The Congress has brought together representatives from more than 97 countries and continues at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi until 1 October.
