Sheikh Abdullah holds bilateral talks with UK Foreign Secretary

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has looked at ways to enhance economic partnership with the UK, during a call with the country's Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.

The two sides also reviewed several regional and international issues, including developments in the Middle East, highlighting the importance of supporting efforts aimed at consolidating peace and achieving security and stability regionally and globally. 

Discussing the Russia-Ukraine-US trilateral talks hosted in Abu Dhabi, the two sides underscored its significance in contributing to political solutions to the crisis and strengthening international peace and security.

Sheikh Abdullah had earlier expressed hope the discussions would lead to concrete progress towards ending a crisis that has lasted nearly four years and caused immense humanitarian suffering.

He had highlighted that hosting the talks reflects the UAE’s trusted role in promoting peace, supporting dialogue, and transforming challenges into opportunities for the region.

Senior officials from the three countries were in talks to explore political solutions to the Ukraine crisis.
