UAE, Egypt discuss expanded oil, gas drilling programme

WAM

Abdullah Ateya Al Messabi, CEO of ADNOC Drilling, has discussed strategic partnerships with Karim Badawi, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to support higher oil and gas production.

Al Messabi expressed ADNOC Drilling’s interest in strengthening its presence in Egypt, including participating in its expanded onshore and offshore well-drilling programme, alongside establishing partnerships with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and its subsidiaries.

ADNOC Drilling is part of the ADNOC Group, the UAE’s state-owned energy company, and provides drilling and well-services solutions for onshore and offshore oil and gas operations.

Meanwhile, Badawi said increasing drilling activity is a key pillar of the Ministry’s five-year plan to boost domestic crude oil and natural gas production by intensifying exploration, accelerating the development of discoveries, increasing well-drilling rates, and adopting advanced technologies and technical solutions.

The two sides will hold specialised technical meetings in the coming period to explore cooperation opportunities and identify areas for participation in the targeted drilling programme.
