UAE Fatwa Council calls for moon sighting on Friday

The UAE Council for Fatwa is calling on community members, both citizens and residents, to look out for the crescent moon on the evening of Friday, February 28, to determine the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

The Ramadan Crescent Moon Sighting Committee, formed under the UAE Council for Fatwa, urges anyone who spots the crescent moon to report their sighting by calling 027774647 or via this link.

If it is spotted on Friday evening, Ramadan will commence on March 1, and if the crescent moon is not sighted, the holy month will begin on March 2.
