Blood donation drives and services are continuing in the UAE as per the highest international safety standards.
That’s according to the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP), whose message coincides with ‘World Blood Donor Day’ today.
The occasion is a timely reminder about the need for safe blood, especially in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
The ministry has also pointed out the humanitarian side of blood donation and its role in saving lives.
Over the years, the UAE has established itself as one of the world’s leading countries in blood transfusion safety and also for its high rate of voluntary donations.
MoHAP's services are available at Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, in addition to eight sub-centres in the ministry’s hospitals and three mobile vehicles that organise over 500 external campaigns annually.
You can donate blood safely with confidence through the licensed healthcare facilities. All facilities follow the preventive procedures in sterilization & all necessary protective measures to protect the health of donors#coronavirus#covid19#mohap_uae
