UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has discussed the need to accelerate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza during talks with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
During the call, the two leaders affirmed the importance of the maritime corridor, recently announced by the UAE, Cyprus, the European Commission, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, and stressed the need to integrate with other initiatives to provide sufficient and sustainable assistance to the residents of Gaza.
Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE's commitment to ensure the delivery of necessary aid amidst Gaza's worsening humanitarian crisis.
He also stressed the importance of pursuing an immediate ceasefire and advancing towards a comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
On her part, Ursula affirmed the European Commission's determination to work closely with the UAE to further aid delivery efforts.
