UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with various world leaders at the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, held from October 22 to 24.
Engaging in discussions with leaders including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, Chinese President Xi Jinping, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali, His Highness focused on advancing cooperation in economic, trade, and developmental sectors.
The summit, themed “Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security,” emphasised enhancing BRICS solidarity and cooperation.
The Kazan Declaration reaffirmed a commitment to necessary reforms in the World Trade Organisation to improve its resilience and inclusivity.
Leaders expressed strong support for Palestine’s full UN membership, advocating for a two-state solution based on international law.
They voiced deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, particularly in Gaza and the West Bank, urging for urgent and uninterrupted humanitarian assistance to those affected.
