UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed medical facilities in the country to treat 1,000 Palestinian children, who will be brought in from Gaza along with their families.
The decision to host the Gazan children prior to their safe return home is an extension of the UAE's continued efforts to offer relief assistance to the Palestinian people, particularly children, in response to the grave humanitarian conditions they are facing.
The announcement was made during a phone call between Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric.
During the call, they also emphasised the need for safe, continuous aid delivery to civilians in Gaza and called for enhanced regional and global efforts to strengthen the humanitarian response to the crisis.
