The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has launched the second phase of its COVID-19 vaccination programme for refugees in Kurdistan, Iraq.
As many as 15,000 Syrian and Iraqi refugees will be administered their second doses.
The UAE's humanitarian arm, ERC, is implementing the project in coordination with the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH), the UAE Consulate in Erbil and the Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan Region.
"Providing vaccines to refugees and to countries facing challenges is part of the country’s global efforts to contain the pandemic," said Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the ERC.
