Ninety-nine per cent of private companies across the UAE have complied with the midday break rule, which ended on September 15.
That's according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), which conducted more than 145,000 field visits over a three-month period (June 15 - September 15) to ensure firms were following the rules.
Dozens of awareness workshops were also carried out at work sites and workers' accommodation in multiple languages.
"The awareness campaigns included posting videos on social media platforms, SMS and WhatsApp," said Maher Al Obaid, Assistant Under-Secretary for Inspections at MoHRE.
