Jenna Ortega dispels rumours about dating Johnny Depp

Actress Jenna Ortega has recently dispelled rumours about her dating Hollywood star Johnny Depp.

The young actress addressed the speculations during a segment of Vanity Fair's Lie Detector Test in which she categorically denied any romantic association with the Pirates of the Caribbean star.

The reports originally appeared in tabloids as celebrity gossip but quickly became a talking point due to the substantial age difference between 20-year-old Ortega and 60-year-old Depp.

Many social media users found this potential pairing controversial, sparking a lot of online discourse.

Ortega said the reports were completely untrue. "This is so ridiculous I can't even laugh, I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life. Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone," she said.

She became well-known after playing the younger version of Gina Rodriguez's character in the popular TV show Jane the Virgin. More recently, she finished filming for the movie Wednesday, a live-action series where she plays the central role of Wednesday Addams. Depp, on the other hand, has recently seen his private life dissected on social media with the very public coverage of his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
