Ajman student fatally run over by school bus

A 12-year-old student in Ajman has died after the school bus she stepped out of accidentally ran over her. 

According to the Ajman Police, the driver had not noticed that the student had walked in front of the bus after being dropped off near her house.

Emergency services had rushed to the spot in the Hamidiya area after they were alerted about the incident at 3:48 pm on Tuesday.

The student of Umm Ammar Secondary School suffered severe head injuries.

Initial investigations revealed that the bus was being operated without a supervisor. 

The school bus driver has been arrested, and an investigation is currently underway. 

Authorities have appealed to school bus operators to follow safety guidelines at all times.
