RTA bans e-scooters on Dubai Metro, Tram

Starting March 1, commuters on Dubai Metro and Tram will not be allowed to take their e-scooters onboard.

Making the announcement Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said the decision to "prohibit" e-bikes is to protect the safety of the commuters.

The decision comes days after Dubai Metro services on the Red Line were disrupted due to smoke from a passenger's e-scooter.
