Yemen has praised the continuing humanitarian efforts of the UAE, following the shipment of 75 tonnes of food stuffs and medicine to Socotra. This shipment was delivered under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and under the care of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, and Chairman of the Khalifah bin Zayed humanitarian foundation. To date, 30,000 people in Yemen have benefited from humanitarian aid provided by the Emirates Red Cresent. Currently, there are more than 170 representatives on the ground providing aid in eight provinces throughout the country. In addition to this, the UAE has been instrumental in restoring power to 90% of residential areas in Aden, opening a total of 154 schools all over the nation, as well as restoring 50 others, and providing books and school supplies to Yemeni students.
